This course is a combination of interactive videos, online lectures, live video demonstrations and will be conducted via Zoom platform.

WHY SME MUST APPOINT AND TRAIN OSH COORDINATOR???? 
 
The Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Bill 2020 (“OSH (Amendment) Bill 2020”) was passed by the Dewan Rakyat (House of Representatives) and the Dewan Negara (Senate and had received the Royal Assent on 4 March 2022.
 
The key changes under the Amended OSHA are: 
 
  • Employers with five or more employees must employ and train OSH Coordinator
  • Penalty of failing to appoint an OSH Coordinator, or an SHO (where applicable) is a fine not exceeding RM50, 000.00 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or both.

Occupational Safety & Health Coordinator Online Training (OSH-C)

The OSH (Amendment) Bill 2020 was passed by Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara (Senate) on 27.10.2021 and is expected to be gazetted by mid this year.
 
Among the new provisions is Section 29a of the OSHA Amendment which requires an employer who employs five or more employees at the workplace to employ and train an OSH Coordinator. The penalty for contravention of the requirement to appoint an OSH Coordinator, or a SHO (where applicable) is a fine not exceeding RM50,000.00 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or both.  

The course objectives are:

  • To train candidates with the required skills and knowledge to be competent in their occupation as Occupational Safety and Health Co-ordinator.
  • To create awareness and promote a safe culture at the workplace
  • To train candidates to assist employers in reporting OSH statistics and performance to DOSH

The Trainer
𝗠𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿, has more than 30 years of experience in the Occupational Safety & Health sector. He regularly conducts training programmes on Safety Committee, Accident Prevention, Safety Audit, Forklift Handling, Chemical Handling, OHSA 1994 & FMA 1967, Safety Awareness, Safety Management System, Risk Management, Emergency Management System and others for more than 100 industries in Malaysia.
