WHY SME MUST APPOINT AND TRAIN OSH COORDINATOR????
The Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Bill 2020 (“OSH (Amendment) Bill 2020”) was passed by the Dewan Rakyat (House of Representatives) and the Dewan Negara (Senate and had received the Royal Assent on 4 March 2022.
The key changes under the Amended OSHA are:
- Employers with five or more employees must employ and train OSH Coordinator
- Penalty of failing to appoint an OSH Coordinator, or an SHO (where applicable) is a fine not exceeding RM50, 000.00 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or both.
